Neighborhoods & Maps

The town of Truckee is approximately 34 square miles, made up of a great community of neighborhoods.

Each neighborhood is somewhat diverse in geography, ranging in elevation between 5,540 feet in the vicinity of Boca Reservoir to nearly 7,500 feet in Tahoe Donner. While they may differ in their unique character and proximity to amenities, all enjoy access to nature and recreation opportunities right out their back doors.

Downtown Truckee –

Glenshire  One of Truckee’s most popular neighborhoods for families and year-round residents, also called “The Shire” by locals. Receiving notably less snow than other Truckee areas, it’s known as “the banana belt.” Walking access to Glenshire Elementary School, a clubhouse, and a community pool maintained by the Glenshire Devonshire Residents Association. Glenshire is popular with residents who commute to Reno, with easy I-80 East access via the Hirschdale exit.
